March 13, 2007--Newport Beach, CA

Sienna Isabelle was welcomed to the world at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach on March 13, 2007 at 4:51 a.m. Under the skillful guidance of Dr William Somers, Dr. Laurance, Dr. Holcomb, the daytime help of Nurse Mary and Danielle, and night help of Nurse Tien along with husband and coach Kris, Susy won the battle and evicted her tenant after well over 41 weeks...

Kris & Susy arrived at the hospital at 9:06 a.m. on March 12th.  Susy's water broke shortly after and then it was a long road from there.  After 10 hours of labor, she had only dialated 1 cm, then suddenly, 1 hour later, 3 cm, 2 hours later 7 cm, 1 hour later 9 cm, 1 hour later 10 cm....and then not quite ready.  The nurse (who incidentally delivered Kate Hudson's child) decided that it would be best to hold off longer to decrease the amount of pushing required....she was wrong.  Kris was stressing, Susy was exhausted...this is definately not like in the movies!  Sienna was born weighing in at 7 pounds 6 ounces and 22 inches (which they then revised to 19.5 inches so we will see what the doctor says tomorrow.)

 

Kris and Susy have been hapily married for nearly 7 years.  They currently live in Orange County, California.  Sienna is their first child.
